Episode One of this Thanksgiving Psalm focused on our gratitude for ongoing miracles of Jewish survival in face of the seemingly endless attempts at our destruction.
In the second Episode of this unique expression of prayerful gratitude, aptly entitled DANGEROUS WATERS we zero in on murderous machinations of Jew Hating monsters who are metaphorized as raging, treacherous waters; inundating and overwhelming.
Broadly speaking, the euphemistic depiction of our enemies as a swirling torrent of rapids embodies the sweep our long and often pain filled, challenging national saga.
Yet specifically it may also be directly alluding to the historic, albeit disparate threats of the Egyptian, Persian and Assyrian Greek Exiles. The harsh prosecutorial threats from our enemies in the respective pre-Passover, Purim, and Chanukah eras.
The second segment of teaching on Psalm 124 comprises the eighteenth consecutive offering of the Awe-Psalm Ascendancy Series on the 15 Psalms of the Shir HaMa’alot.
This Episode has been dedicated by Les and Iris Friedman to commemorate the Yahrzeit of Les’s mother, Bluma bat Naftoli.
