This in-depth Gemara study of Masechet Megillah focuses on joyous festival of Purim. This mini-series opened with a discussion about its observance when a Leap Year includes two months of Adar.

Progressing onto an investigation of the holiday’s formal establishment, the subject turned to the formal induction of Megillat Esther into our biblical canon. This leads into a discussion about Mishloach Manot, the Holiday Gifting of Edibles to One Another!

Tractate Megillah, Chap. One, Pg 7a. Episode Seven is entitled: “DIVINE INSPIRATION”

Having documented the story behind Megillat Esther’s historic inclusion in Tanach (Jewish Scripture, e.g., Hebrew biblical canon), we focused on a parallel law about ritual impurity and the handling of Sacred Scrolls.

The opening section of this Episode completes that thesis with a kindred analysis of King Solomon’s inspired written wisdom found in biblical books of Ecclesiastes, Proverbs, and Kings.

This positions us to move into the climatic thrust with the introduction of proofs that Queen Esther’s scroll was indeed written with a Divine Spirit of inspiration.

As numerous senior Sages weigh in on this important issue each highlighting a different verse to clearly demonstrate higher [divinely inspired] consciousness –it’s the most junior of them who ends up punching highest!

And thus, the issue of the Megillah’s prophetic nature is resolved, once and for all.

This comprises the Seventh Episode of our continuing mini-series on Purim.
