Studying Sha’ar HaBitachon, Rabbeinu Bachaya’s “Gate of Trust” ~ the Timeless Torah Book that can teach US ALL to How to Live with Certainty and Discover Tranquility!
Chapter Three, Part Thirteen: “MISPLACED TRUST”
Amongst the Foundational Principles we must internalize to successfully nurture real Bitachon, is the critical concept of Trust Exclusivity. In this Episode we will continue to explore importance and meaning of this specific principle.
Having made the case that Diversifying our Trust diminishes our relationship with Hashem, Rabbeinu Bachayar now concludes with a very different rational: Placing Trust in Multiple Providers will result in failure. Rather than bringing an added measure of security and success, it will typically backfire and weaken the outcome.
The bottom line is that having Bitachon necessarily means placing our exclusive trust in G-d. regardless of how intuitively appealing and prudent it may seem to diversify our Trust investments, to including others in that circle may well result in Hashem choosing to abandon us to them!
To be sure, the idea that “Big Tent Trust” can undermine and even ruins aspirations isn’t new. In fact, a look at the precise language of employed by the great Prophet Jeremiah spells it out quite clearly.
Part Thirteen of the chapter comprises the 58th episode of this ongoing series.

A nother master piece of work.
Strong ending, love this bitachon discussion. Thank you Rabbi!
Shalom Rabbi! You are so brilliant! I wanted to comment, Stocks and Bonds, requires a great amount of skill. Please don't ever feel bad for the lack of knowledge! My late husband was a Master in Economics and knew his way around the Stock Market. Yasuo san, traded stocks right up until the Day of his Passing! His last transaction, according to his Broker, netted him $25,000.00. Yasuo san spent countless hours talking to me about Stocks and Bonds.. I really had no interest in "earning" this way! I was more interested in my Spirituality and how can I better "The Community in which I dwell". "Always Trust in Hashem. Blessings will surely be in Abundance". Debbey Van Beek
