COUNTING DAYS is a text-based Gemara mini-series focused on the Mitzvah of Sefirat Ha”Omer, the annual Post-Passover Counting of Days that leads us up to Shavuot — the holiday commemorating the Giving of the Torah.
The series began with the Reaping of fresh Barley for the firstling grain offering called The Omer, the eponymous source for our national count-up commandment.

Tractate Menachot, Page 66a — ON THE MORROW continues the investigation of the Torah’s verses to Identify the Date of The Counting, because in the end, Timing is Everything!
This Episode returns to continue the relentless investigation to determine the exact day in which the count is set to begin. Yet surprisingly we repeat a previously mentioned Baraita (Mishna-genre level) teaching in nearly verbatim fashion.
The seemingly superfluous teaching obviously begs for greater clarification and explaining it will provide historical context and naturally lead us into a deeper understanding of the biblical dictate of Sefirat Ha’Omer.
Like the preceding arguments, the goal is to prove beyond any Shadow of Doubt that fulfillment of the biblical call to “Count the Omer,” thereby scheduling Shavuot, is set for “The Morrow” of the inaugural Sabbatical Day of Pesach.
The overlap of Torah terms for Day of Rest, and Happy Holy Days features prominently in this investigative scholarly quest. this all further defends us from the theological attacks of ancient Heretical Jewish Sects.
This teaching comprises the eighth segment of our series on Sefirat Ha’Omer.
