Studying Sha’ar HaBitachon, Rabbeinu Bachaya’s “Gate of Trust” ~ the Timeless Torah Book that can teach you to How to Live with Certainty and Discover Tranquility!
Episode #27 — ” THE HUNGER” Although the metaphorical “Alchemist” might indeed have access to endless financial resources, the trusting “Person of Faith” is still far more secure, as wealth does not always translate into sustenance or satiation. Rabbeinu Bachaya illustrates this with harsh words uttered by our prophets, and sadly, our history has borne tragic testimony to this Torah truism.
To be sure, possession of riches seems to guarantee safety, security, and satiation as one assumes hard cash has limitless purchasing powers, yet Big Bucks can’t always stock the Pantry and the cold facts are that all the money in the world may be useless in times of famine. Conversely, People of Bitachon (those privileged with pure trust in Hashem) are prophetically assured that He will always provide for them, in ALL times – even in the most calamitous of days.
