This series on the Passover Haggadah features in-depth study of the actual ancient text, its formal instructional accompaniment and the commentary authored by the Rebbe. We invariably draw on a wide range of classic and contemporary teachings.

This is the final segment on “Matzah,” the eight section of the fifteen parts comprising the Pesach Seder’s Order.
Episode #44 “WHAT WE EAT” opens with an analysis of the syntax of Blessing recited over the Mitzvah element of Matzah; then moving on to the sacred ritual consumption of the unique non-leavened wafer we are commanded to eat on Passover Night.
In previous Episodes “Breaking Bread” we explored Halachik etiquette precedin the Blessing Recitations, leading into the Mitzvah mandate of eating Matzah on this Night.
Now as we’re finally at fulfilment, we move into a form of Blessing Inclusion, and the onto a Double Breaking that takes us on to discover who needs to eat twice as much!
Various new sources will be introduced to disect the anatomy of a Mainstay Mitzvah Blessing. before returning to the disparate schools of Halacha we have already learnt about to justify the multiple Matzah analysis of pre-consumption procedure.
Then in “Who Eats Most” the same dichotomy makes for a Ke’ara Conundrum and informs the proper way to fully engage in this sacred edibility experience by returning the same creative methodology that allows us to satisfy all opinions.
The 44th Episode in our ongoing study series on the Haggadah (formal Handbook) used at the Passover Seder has been sponsored by Ron and Lena Berman to commemorate the yahrzeit of Lena’s mother – Shayna bat Nachman.
