Episode Seventy-Three entitled “WHY WE WANT IT NOW” offers a totally new twist on the age-old Jewish yearning and heartfelt wanting and waiting for Galut to end.

As in the previous Episode, this is yet another profound thesis on why our national desire to see the long-awaited global Geula-shift should not stem from storied suffering, or historic discomfort; despite them being symptoms of Galut displacement.

Yet here, unlike the past segment that taught us about a loftier focus and the achievement of higher consciousness towards a Creator-oriented concerns — this rumination is very much about us: About the deepest of self-actualization. About our happiness, fulfillment, and inner contentment — albeit entirely unselfish and altruistic!

The traditional mystical view of our exilic experience becomes the catalyst for incredibly elegant novelty that serves to redefine the value of toil, and as such, as our age-old yearning as well. Now casting it all in the radiance of a very new light.

Rather than being motivated by Am Yisrael’s suffering, we are instead inspired by the force of labour-intensive Torah study. Efforts which can supplant struggles and hardships and engender greater thirst for the highest of spiritual fulfilment possible.

Yet, at the same time the very thirst for what isn’t available uplifts engagement in what is at hand, inspiring rather than demoralizing.

Ultimately — this all translates into intensified, even more heartfelt yearning for the blessed era of Geula only to be ushered in by Moshiach.

As always, the genuinely ingenious novelty of the Rebbe’s unique approach, is well founded upon the bedrock of classic sources that readily reflect the fresh perspective being advanced, despite the incredibly original nature of this teaching!

This Episode about actively awaiting the Geula is dedicated to the merit of Me’ira bat Orah in the prayerful hope that she be granted a fresh infusion of good health, vitality, and stamina to fulfill her special Shlichut in life.

This segment comprises the Seventy Third offering of our ongoing study series about the (final) Redemption, referred to as the Coming of Moshiach (Messiah); bringing us practical guidance and instruction of how to get us there faster!
